Food
We tried Hola Mexican Cocina & Cantina for a little birthday brunch celebration with the family and we all left happy and very full! The meal started out with fresh made Tortilla Chips and Chicarróns seasoned with Tajin. They were accompanied by a Salsa Roja Fresca and a Salsa Verde Asada, both were worthy of asking for seconds.
Since we brought the family with us we were able to try a good number of dishes. A couple different style Fajitas, a Chicken & Shrimp version and a Carne Asada. Both came with steaming hot Tortillas, Guacamole, Tres Queso, Fresh Crema, and a Pico de Gallo. Neither of these plates lasted very long!
My wife decided on the Enchiladas and I got a Fried Burrito, they were accompanied with Cilantro Rice, Black Beans and a Chipotle Fideo con Crema, which is a pasta side dish. Everything came out steaming hot and packed with flavor. The fresh ingredients really shined and I think we went through two baskets of chips before our food arrived.
We also tried the Chicken Albondigas Soup, and let me tell you, it was so good we didn’t even get a photo of it! One giant chicken meat ball in a spicy soup made from Chayote, Carrots, Potato, Onion, Celery and Cilantro. There was even rice in it, this was an incredible soup and my only regret is not getting a photo.
Dessert… No meal is complete without dessert!
In our case we split the Churros & Dulce de Leche, and they were fantastic! Everybody loves a good Churro anyway but when you pair it with the super sweet and gooey, Dulce de Leche, you end up with a magical end to a stellar meal. This little basket of fried goodness didn’t even sit on the table long enough to start getting cold.
Basically you won’t be able to eat them fast enough, they really are that good!
Get your drink on!
You didn’t think we would go to brunch and not get a drink did you?
Since we drove separately, only the birthday boy got a cocktail, but let me tell you it was delicious. The “El Diablo” is a Spicy Pineapple Mezcal-Rita. Made with Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, Ancho Reyes, Roasted Pineapple, Fresh Sour Mix, Habanero Fire Water and a Habanero Tajin Salted rim. An explosion of flavor in a glass and the taste of the little roasted chunks of pineapple dance on your tongue like kid with new shoes. 💃🏻🕺🏻
Each drink comes with a cool little collectible card that can be used to play a fun little drinking game kind of like bingo. You get a certain card with each drink and collecting cards to block off a row or make different designs earns you prizes and food. So grab a few friends and see how many cards and freebies you can collect.

Goodies and Things, a few recommended essentials.
A pro tip when embarking on an adventure is it’s always smart to have the right gear. Even though this trek is all inside, it never hurts to be prepared. So, we put together a short list of essential items for walking around Las Vegas.
First, a great pair of comfortable shoes are a life saver.
Secondly, a good water bottle. If your going to be eating, drinking and shopping all day long, you need to stay hydrated. Especially in the desert!
Third, grab yourself a little flask and hit the liquor store. If you play your cards ( 😉 ) right, you’re going to want a beverage or two to keep you fueled on your journey. So save yourselves a ton of money on expensive shots and bring your own! A huge plus here is there is no open container law so you can take a little sip anywhere.
Fourth, a good day pack. Something small, light weight and discreet but big enough to hold your essentials and any other goodies you may find on your adventures through Sin City. The less you have to carry, the more energy you’ll have for fun!
