It’s no secret that Las Vegas has tons of amazing places to eat, but its the walking around in the hot sun for hours that doesn’t have us inspired. If you are looking for incredible food & drinks, birthday adventures and more shopping than you can shake a stick at, then The Palazzo is the place for you.
The best part is, once inside of this gorgeous hotel and casino you literally do not have to set foot outside for the rest of your stay. With too many brand name stores and eateries to mention in just one article we decided to focus on just a few of our birthday favorites. Just a little something to get you excited about your next Las Vegas trip, The Legendary Palazzo has it all.
SushiSamba
SushiSamba delivers a whole new caliber of Asian cuisine. This fine dinning sushi experience is one of the best Asian fusion meals you can treat yourself too. The menu is full of classics and has a bunch of elevated fusion dishes thrown in as well. One of our favorites fusion dishes were the Crispy Yellowtail Taquitos. They came out looking like little mini tacos but the flavor was anything but small.
The favorite dish of the day was hands down the Wagyu Gyoza! Stuffed with Japanese A5 Wagyu, placed on a silky smooth kabocha squash purée and topped with sweet soy, these are hands down the best gyoza we have ever tried! The Hamachi Kama was grilled to perfection and paired with the key lime and su-shoya sauce the combo was out of this world.
Speaking of out of this world, the Sashimi Saviche with yellowtail, ginger, garlic and soy was so good my mouth is watering just writing this. In fact I’m drooling looking at these photos and remembering how exquisite this entire meal was. The Tonkatsu Ramen was loaded with flavor and the bershire pork belly melts in your mouth.
What’s a great meal without some incredible drinks you ask?
The specialty cocktail list will have you wanting to try all of the delicious flavor combos. Like the Wagyu Cocktail, Japanese whisky, fat washed with Wagyu and stirred with maple and salted caramel will have you shaking your head at how good this cocktail is.
If you are in the mood for a citrus cocktail, try the Besos. Reposada tequila, pink peppercorn syrup, aqua faba, and grapefruit bitters are all shaken and mixed to perfection in this truly refreshing treat.
The Nina Fresh and the Coffee & Chocolate Boulevardier were both delicious and refreshing as well. In fact from what we tried it seems like you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
SushiSamba really delivers on flavor, service and atmosphere. The wait staff was attentive, courteous, knowledgeable and fun.
Overall this was truly an amazing experience in flavor, but don’t take our word for it. Take your taste buds on their own culinary adventure, and be sure to bring a friend or two so you can try even more of the mouth watering goodies from the menu.
Mott 32
Dim Sum has long been a crowd favorite.
Tasty little bites shared between friends, the excitement of watching the server remove the bamboo lid to reveal all the steaming goodness underneath. The thrill of anticipation as you watch the bamboo baskets multiply, wondering which one you will devour first.
Mott 32 take dim sum to an elevated level, high quality ingredients and masterful techniques make every meal here one to remember.
The Shanghainese Soup Dumplings were divine and the Siu Mai with Iberico pork, black truffle and a soft quail egg simply melts in your mouth.
Wok fried flat noodles with black angus beef and the seafood hot and sour soup will send you home dreaming of the next time you will come back.
Pair the meal with one or two of the specialty cocktails and you have the makings of quite an unforgettable experience.
The Secrets of Xi an, Black Label, Hong Kong Baijiu, green apple, miso honey and cucumber is out of this world. And the Hong Kong Iced Tea with Vulcan Cristalino Anejo Tequila, Lillet Blanc, black currant and jasmine tea is so incredible you can’t even taste the alcohol. Definitely be careful with this one, it has a way of sneaking up on you.
Weather it is an intimate birthday party or a group celebration Mott 32 is the place to be for truly excellent Dim Sum and cocktails.
LAVO
Located on the first floor of the Palazzo, Lavo gives new meaning to fine Italian dinning. With exemplary service and cuisine so carefully thought out and presented, you will feel like royalty.
Start with one of the delectable appetizers, like the Tuna Tartare made with yellow fin tuna, avocado, crispy garlic and a black olive dressing. A dish so delicate it dissolves in your mouth with and explosion of flavors. The complimentary Garlic Bread paired with marinara and assorted olives is a crispy garlicky compliment to any of the incredible entrees on the menu.
We recommend trying the Spaghetti and Meatballs, made with Wagyu beef, Italian sausage and veal, all in a robust Ragu and topped with fresh ricotta. Or dig into the creamy Penne Seafood Alfredo made with shrimp, scallops, a luscious lobster butter and a light cream sauce. Both dishes are worthy of writing home about.
Pair your meal with one of the amazing wines on their list or specialty cocktail, the Pinot Noir paired perfectly with this meal and will keep your pallet awake and ready for the next bite.
Oh and you can’t forget about dessert either. We recommend trying the Oreo Zeppole, if you have never had a deep fried Oreo then you have no idea what you are missing. Paired with a malted vanilla milk shake these deep fried treats are truly out of this world!
Lavo screams elegance and class in wonderful atmosphere, just be sure to make a reservation as this place is busy!
This is a must eat destination in the beautiful Palazzo hotel and we recommend dining here at least once while you are in town.
Goodies and Things, a few recommended essentials.
A pro tip when embarking on an adventure is it’s always smart to have the right gear. Even though this trek is all inside, it never hurts to be prepared. So, we put together a short list of essential items for walking around The Palazzo.
First, a great pair of comfortable shoes are a life saver.
Secondly, a good water bottle. If your going to be eating, drinking and shopping all day long, you need to stay hydrated. Especially in the desert!
Third, grab yourself a little flask and hit the liquor store. If you play your cards ( 😉 ) right, you’re going to want a beverage or two to keep you fueled on your journey. So save yourselves a ton of money on expensive shots and bring your own! A huge plus here is there is no open container law so you can take a little sip anywhere.
Fourth, a good day pack. Something small, light weight and discreet but big enough to hold your essentials and any other goodies you may find on your adventures through the Grand Canal Shoppes. The less you have to carry, the more energy you’ll have for fun!
